Biography
Michel Guillot studied mechanical engineering in the field of design before completing a doctorate in manufacturing at M.I.T. in 1990. A member of REGAL, he works as a professor at Laval University in the field of aluminum, and more specifically in product and structural development, as well as aluminum manufacturing and assembly processes. He is particularly active in MIG welding, friction stir welding and adhesive bonding processes. It is also involved in tube and extrusion forming, aluminum casting, rapid prototyping, machining and robotized manufacturing processes. He has developed structures such as bridge decks and high-rise building construction systems, as well as various ground and air transportation products including buses, trailers and recreational vehicles.
